Tesla Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck is finally here and the first shipment has already started on December 1, 2023. In November 2019, Elon Musk shocked the world when he introduced the first electric pickup truck, an innovation in the automotive industry. There are three different models of the Cybertruck, including Rear-Wheel Drive, All-Wheel Drive, and the Cyberbeast.

How much is the Tesla Cybertruck?

The Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive starts at $76,390 for the dual motor car and increases to $96,390 for the tri-motor Cyberbeast model. There is also a Rear-Wheel Drive model of the Cybertruck with an estimated price of $57,390. The Rear-Wheel Drive model will be available starting in 2025.

Features

The Cybertruck All Wheel drive model has a range of up to 340 miles. With its 600 horsepower engine, it can reach 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds, and a top speed of 112 mph. In comparison, the Cyberbeast model has a range of up to 320 miles. This powerful vehicle produces a wopping 845 horsepower, can reach 0-60 mph at 2.6 seconds, and has the capacity to tow up to 11,000 pounds.

Comparable to other EVs, the Cybertruck has a spacious “frunk”, or front trunk, with 2.8 cubic feet of storage space – equivalent to the trunk storage of some compact cars.

Body and Build

A bulletproof exterior and 6,000+ pounds of pure stainless steel, this beast of a vehicle is packed with industry-leading innovations and never before seen features. A recent video demonstration revealed that the doors can withstand .45 caliber and 9 millimeter rounds and are indeed bulletproof.

This vehicle has a towing capacity of 11,000 pounds, which is comparable to Rivian’s R1T and slightly higher than Ford’s F-150 Lightning and GM’s Silverado by 1,000 pounds.

The Cybertruck has a 6-foot long bed, with an additional storage compartment built into the bed, which is great for tailgating supplies,  camping gear, or luggage. This storage space can also double as a cooler, with a built in water drainer. One innovative feature to the truck bed is a power tonneau cover that has the strength to hold up to 300 pounds on top. See MKBHD’s video demonstration here.

The vehicle has 120 volt and 240 volt outlets in the truck bed and cabin to operate tools, charge other EVs, and/or serve as a backup generator by providing up to 11.5 kilowatt of power to light up a home.

This futuristic looking vehicle features 9 autopilot cameras – 8 exterior cameras (3 forward-facing, 2 side-facing, 1 rear-facing, 2 for blind spots) and 1 cabin-facing camera for Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability features. The front bumper camera is a unique feature to the Cybertruck, offering a low-angle view of the terrain or road. It is especially useful for off-roading and parking in tight spaces. Off roaders will be especially pleased to know the camera even has a washer function to keep it clean while tackling muddy or dusty conditions.

Charging

Tesla’s Supercharger stations charge the Cybertruck up to 150 miles of range in only 15 minutes with 250 kW DC fast charging. You can also go from 0% to 80% in around 45 minutes, so supercharger stations are ideal for long road trips or when you need a quick boost.

Interior and Cargo

Designed with comfort in mind, the Cybertruck’s minimalist cabin interior features clean lines, black and white tones, and customizable ambient lighting to create a futuristic atmosphere. Its flat floor, lack of center console, and high ceilings make the cabin feel spacious, open, and clutter-free. The bench-style seating in the front and rear of the vehicle accommodate up to six adults comfortably, with ample legroom and headroom.

Adding to the futuristic feel of the Cybertruck, the yoke steering wheel replaces the traditional circular wheel and provides a clear view of the gauge panels. The vehicle’s interior is made with environmentally conscious materials, including vegan leather upholstery and recycled fabrics.
